Bringing the Farm to Summer Meals

Trudy Moo

Yesterday we partnered with The Utah State Office of Education and Utahns Against Hunger to bring the farm to the Summer Meals Program! In effort to raise awareness about the USDA’s Summer Food Service Program we created a fun nutrition and agriculture experience for kids.

Visit the Farm!

Children 18 and under had the opportunity to eat free and “visit the farm”. The kids started off enjoying a nutritious lunch provided by the Salt Lake City School District. Afterwards they could experience many fun activities!

Our Partnership:

“We are thrilled to partner with these organizations for this event,” says Jenn Harrison, CEO of the Dairy Council of Utah / Nevada. “We have a long standing relationship with schools and nutrition education, and this is an example of how we can further our involvement and offer nutrition plus agriculture education through a fun, hands-on experience.”

Thank You!

Thanks to everyone who made this event possible including all of our great volunteers including members from the Future Farmers of America!
