Young Farmers Raise Money for Milk Drive

Great American Milk Drive

At their annual summer gathering, young dairy farmers tie in a day of fun with a day of giving.

Dairy Farmers Give Back:

Farmers who donated just $5 to the Great American Milk Drive received half-price tickets to Utah’s amusement park, Lagoon, for their annual summer gathering. This incentive encouraged over 240 farmers to donate to the drive, raising more than $1300 in milk donations for their local food pantries. The DFA Cares Foundation, an arm of the farmer cooperative, Dairy Farmers of America, will match all donations to make an even greater impact.

“In past years, we have done general food drives as part of our annual summer event,” says Brian Ercanbrack, the region’s young farmer coordinator, “and this year we decided to tie in with the Great American Milk drive – a great program to make significant local impact.”

Through in-store events and online donations, the Great American Milk Drive is a partnership between America’s dairy farmers, dairy processors, and Feeding America. Donations support local communities with a sought-after, highly nutritious product. Learn more about the Great American Milk Drive here.
