Yia Yia’s Powdered Sugar Cookies

December 23, 2016

This recipe, shared by Lacey Papageorge who works with us as a Schools Mentor comes from her great grandmother. Passed to her by her Yia Yia (an affectionate Greek name for Grandma), Lacey remembers growing up with these traditional cookies at holidays and special occasions. Sometimes called Wedding Cookies or Snowballs (if made into round balls instead of crescents), these cookies look beautiful on a holiday tray. They are buttery and delicious.
Tip: Lacey's Yia Yia recommends also using a touch of anise oil in the recipe.
