How to make a non fish-eater enjoy salmon!

We all know a few people out there who despise seafood or fish of any kind. Maybe it is your kiddos or maybe even yourself. My sister was one of those people and so my mom kept this secret weapon salmon recipe in her back pocket that would leave everyone licking their plate clean, even my non-fish eating sister.

Salmon happens to be one of the most nutrient dense fishes! Super high in healthy fats, loaded with vitamins and minerals and a great source of protein, salmon is definitely a superfood.

My mother’s famous baked cream cheese salmon was no doubt a favorite at our house. It was also a favorite of hers to cook because it provided a healthy nutritious meal for her family and is a simple, quick, fool-proof recipe.

  • Yields: 2 servings (can esasily be scaled)


2 fillets salmon (2-4oz each)

1/4 cup cream cheese

2 tablespoons diced (or 1 tbsp dried chives)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Cayenne Powder (to taste)

Salt and Pepper (to taste)


Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Place salmon in baking dish

Gently warm cream cheese in microwave until soft

Chop fresh chives

Mix chives and spices into cream cheese

Evenly spread cream cheese mixture on top of salmon

Bake 15-20 minutes or until center of salmon is opaque and flaky but still moist
