Amanda Gibson joins the United Dairymen of Idaho today as the new manager of business development and processor relations. She will serve as a vital link between Idaho’s dairy farm families and the larger dairy industry supply chain, helping build demand and growing sales of Idaho’s largest agricultural economy.
“Amanda has a proven track record of working with agricultural commodities — including dairy — to grow demand for the very high quality products we produce in Idaho,” Karianne Fallow, CEO of United Dairymen of Idaho, says. “Her experience in marketing agricultural products and her expertise in global markets will serve Idaho’s dairy
Before joining United Dairymen of Idaho, Gibson spent four years managing international projects at the Idaho State Department of Agriculture, connecting companies with qualified buyers worldwide and helping them navigate logistical challenges. Amanda also managed Idaho’s Specialty Crop Block Grant Program, where she oversaw the award and reporting processes for nearly $2 million in annual funding for research and promotion projects designed to improve Idaho crops and grow the Gem State economy.
In addition, Gibson spent time working in logistics with a wireless device company in Bilbao, Spain, and at an animal health products company in Eagle, Idaho. She also worked for six years at a statewide construction association connecting Idaho contractors to job opportunities and managing the organization’s online bidding program.
Amanda’s desire to see Idaho companies thrive comes naturally. “I’ve always been motivated to innovate for companies that strive to be successful,” Gibson says. “Idaho’s dairy industry, which is third in the country for milk production, represents the kind of hard work and commitment associated with our state and agriculture.”
Amanda holds a master’s degree in global business administration from Thunderbird School of Global Management, as well as bachelor’s degrees in international business, finance, and Spanish from Boise State University. She lives in Boise and enjoys hiking, camping, reading, traveling, and food.
